Lil'B is doing Kungfu fighting!

It's funny, I can feel Lil'B moving, day and night, and it is an amazing feeling.According to what I have read so far, monitoring the baby movement is very important, especially during the third trimester. Sometimes, I can get quite obsessive and I would touch my bump and annoy Lil'B and made him move for a bit. Then I would stop. I am sure he is annoyed!

This morning, Sugar felt the movement too when he placed his palm on my bump while I called Lil'B to move it and show off! We had a good laugh!

Ever since we know we are expecting, Sugar and I are bonding so well and we are getting closer each and every minute. He is such a lovely husband, very supportive, caring and very understanding. I have never imagined that he would be so patient with me. I hope this does not change when Lil'B arrives...

How much nappies are enough?

We went grocery shopping the other day. It was meant to be grocery shopping, for some food and groceries, but the dad-to-be is very enthusiastic at looking at the baby department.

Besides our normal grocery, we ended up with some nappies for new born and a set of TommeeTippee Steriliser. We are starting to buy things for the baby so that it will not be too hectic when it comes to last minute shopping.

This our very first time buying nappies. We bought the brand Pampers simply because it is on Sale! It is the attractive sale price that drive us to stock up nappies so early. Yet, I am not too sure whether we bought the right size. I need to do more research. Which brand is better for my baby? I guess it is all trial and errors. So, i guess it is wise not to stock up too many. I also think that new born grows very fast, so we may need different sizes very soon. The other thing is, we do not know the size of the baby until Lil'B arrives...

As for the steriliser, it is a microwave steriliser. Now I am thinking to change that to an electronic steam one, because I read in the forum that the electronic one is more convenient. This is something new to me, and it is more difficult than studying for my MBA!!!!! God please help me!

Oh yes, I am also looking at cloth nappies. This is more environmental friendly, and I will find out more and definitely buy some for my Lil'B. Lets go green all the way and care for the environment! I want to be a 'green mum'!

You do not need an excuse to buy me a gift!

D bought a small gift for our Lil'B. So very nice of him.

It is a piggy bank! I think D is hinting, 'we should start saving!'

He is dancing...

I have started to feel the baby movement inside me.

At first, I was not too sure about the feeling. I am more familiar now and it feels great. This is a way for me to know that the little one inside me is fine and actively 'kicking'.

I have also let Sugar feel the 'kicking' every time I feel it, unfortunately, he cannot feel it as much, the baby is still very small, about 28cm long at 22 weeks.

I am very happy to be able to feel the movement, it is amazing and words cannot describe it! My lil'B is most active at night...or rather, when I am relaxing at night, I tend to feel more of him moving around and dancing inside me. Cute!

Stand tall and be proud..

It is my 21 weeks...

My baby bump is so obvious now that nobody would think I am 'fat'. I am now looking undeniably pregnant!

Besides my growing bump, my breast size is growing too. I have now moved up to a cup size and I got a feeling that this is not yet the end, so I will need to buy lots of bras, then more nursing bras after the birth. I kinda like this stage of bra shopping! It is of course, shoe shopping would be 100 times nicer than this, and I have not bought or go shop for shoes since 3 months ago! Believe it or not! Big deal for me!

I am eating as usual and I do not eat for two particularly. I know my food intake is sufficient, it is more on quality of food these days, not on quantity anymore...

I am loving each and every day of my pregnancy and I feel fabulous! All books said 2nd trimester will be the honey moon period of pregnancy, and I believe in that too!!

Let's go shopping!

Ever since we found out that we are having a BOY, I am eagerly browsing baby boy items online and on the catalogues.

Blue is not the only color for boy. There are so many choice out there, I particularly like white stuff for my Lil'B, and I guess little mix n' match will do the trick.

Looking at so many lines of prams, push chairs and car seat, and we got spoilt by choice and do not know which one to choose from. I am constantly worrying that we might get the wrong item and will need to spend more money to buy the correct item. It is so much research to do, and joining mums forums help too!

Here is a list of items that i need to find out before we can make the purchase decision :

1. Nappies (sizes, brands, where to bag a bargain)
2. Bottles ( how many? types?.....)
3. Baby cot, mattresses, blankets
4. Bath items... (we have a smallbathroom, so it is really tricky)
5. Changing mat (how many do we need?)
6. Breast pump (what types, i have no clue at all.....must find out more)
7. Pram, or travel system ( so many to look at, and I need a light weight practical one, with reasonable price tag!)
8. Newborn clothings (how many sets, as my baby is due on winter, so this is tricky too!)
9. Room temperature control ( read forums and product reviews)
10. ...and the list goes on....

...these are for the baby, I have yet to do up a shopping list for myself, eg, life after birth, I need lots of breast feeding essentials, winter clothings, skincare after birth, and also confinement food list. This is too much of a hard work to have a baby, and I am loving it!

Oh Boy!!!

We went for the 20 week scan at the local hospital today.Every thing goes well, Lil'B is growing well, and we are so proud of him. Yes, 'him'. We get to find out the sex of the baby during the scan. The sonographer told us that it is not 100%, but she is 95% sure that our Lil'B is a baby boy!

During the scan, we saw Lil'B moving around. His little hands and fingers, and he kept waving at us, in a way, like HiFiving daddy and mummy, we just could not stop laughing. He made the sonographer laughed too. This little boy is such a heart stealer!

The sonographer helped us to snap a few pictures and I just cant stop admiring those pictures now.

We are so happy! I am so glad that Lil'B is developing well and we just cant wait to meet him!!

We love you!

These worries are not funny...

Tomorrow, I am going to have my 20-week scan.

I am nervous, yet excited. I am looking forward to see my Lil'B for the second time. I am also worry about things like what if they find that Lil'B is not growing well, what if Lil'B has some for of abnormality...full of what ifs.....

I guess every mum-to-be will feel this too... As I am writing this, I can feel the 'kicking'. Smart little baby and he/she sure knows I am talking about him/ her.

Finding out the sex of the baby is not my priority. Although the Chinese/ Asian Chinese culture is that it is a must to find out the sex, I guess I am happy to welcome Lil'B to this world at the delivery room. It is never too late to exclaim ' It's a Boy!!! or It's a Girl!!!' How exciting that can be? You only get that once in your life time for a child. This is our very first child and of course, very precious to us!!

I am sure our Lil'B will be photogenic tomorrow when the sonographer takes the pictures!

Anxiously...

I am so anxious about the 20-week scan. I guess this is normal.
I checked in the pregnancy forum that almost 90% of mum-to-be feel the same way, so I am not the odd one.

Well, it is also like a mix feelings. I am feeling very excited about the scan in a way, because I know i will be able to see my little baby inside me. Amazing...

Look at the bright side, i am sure everything will be fine, and I am meeting my baby for the second time round very soon.

Hello baby, please say Hi to mummy and daddy, ok. We love you!

Downs Syndrome and Spina Bifida

Today, I received a letter from the NHS about my blood test results for Downs Syndrome and Spina Bifida.

The letter states:
" The result based on this screening test suggests the chance of Down Syndrome is 1:3100 in this pregnancy.

The result for Spina Bifida and related conditions were reported to be of low risk."

I am very pleased with the result. Nevertheless, there is a line that reads : Please note that screening tests only predict 'low' or 'increased' chance of Spina Bifida so therefore cannot detect every pregnancy affected by these conditions.....hmmph..

19 weeks and 4 days...

Got a message on my Facebook, one of the best friends is getting married next month, but I will not be attending his wedding party. I have also announced through the thread to tell all the other good friends, or we called it the 'Survivors' that I am 19 weeks pregnant!

Today, I am 19 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I use the pregnancy weeks calculator from baby2see.com. It is a very useful and informative site for mum-to-be.

Being at my 19th week, I am feeling great. I always wanted to take my week-by-week picture of my growing bum, but always forget about it. This is my 19th week, hope it is still not too late to start tomorrow.

Sugar and I have been talking to Little B whenever we are at home together. I have also downloaded some music for babies, such as Beethoven for babies... Not sure how often I will listen to that. I listen to BBC Radio 1 a lot!
