Toilet seat trainer

Jinc is two and a half years old now, and not fully toilet trained yet. I taught him to use the toilet when he was about 20months old. I have got a white padded toilet seat trainer given by a friend when Jinc was only six months old. I started to let Jinc sit on the toilet seat trainer to poo when he was about eighteen months old. He was fine with it, just that he did not know when to tell me when he needed the toilet. So, I always had a routine for him to sit on the toilet seat trainer. Sometimes he would use it successfully, but sometimes not!

When he was about twenty two months old, he had already fully understand the use of toilet to do his 'big business'. At that time, he had started to talk, in single word, and he knew how to tell me when he needed the toilet. It was so natural for him to sit on the toilet bowl by using his toilet seat trainer. Big success, I would say, as I did not need to do his dirty bum any more when he had a poo. Save me all the hassle and the wet baby wipes too! Oh I am so happy! I would say, toilet seat trainer is such a great invention, it makes a mom's life so much easier, and it really helps the kid to learn to use the toilet. The very first padded toilet seat trainer that we have is a bit worn out now, and it is time for me to get him a new one.

So, Amazon is the place to shop for baby stuff, and it is not always in Mothercare that you can get the best products!Received the Cars 2 toilet seat trainer today and I did not expect it to arrive so soon!

The padding is very comfy and the size is just right on our toilet bowl. Best of all, it is full of Jinc's favourite Cars2 characters. I am so happy with this purchase, as it costs less than £10!! Jinc is happy with his new toilet seat and he had tried to use it the first hour when we received it in the post! He told me he loved the seat so much, and when I asked him, whether he loved the seat more, or he loved mummy more, he said he loved mummy more! What a cheeky boy, he is! That made my day!

Check this out, it is so worth it!

See how snug it fits on our toilet bowl!

CAT machine toys

New set of toys for my very car-obsessed two-year old! Jinc loves cars so much and this time, we are learning about what all this construction machines can do. I always believe that toys play a very important part in a child's pre-school learning stage.

I am teaching him to name every type of heavy machine and opps, it seemed that he known them all already when I could not tell between a bulldozer and an excavator, and he said, ' mummy, it is an excavator' (although he could not quite pronounce excavator precisely, he said ec-ca-hei-tor)! I am impressed! Thanks to the flashcard app on my iphone about types of cars/vehicles!

Do you know the difference between a bulldozer and an excavator? If the answer is no, I think you should google it and find out...

Proper drawing...

This is Jinc's very first proper drawing. He is quite proud with his drawing and he wants me to show daddy and nanny!

Jinc said,' snake, this is ssss, ssss, snakessssss'

He learned to hold a pen when he was about fifteen months old. He played and he scribbled with crayon and then I got him some felt tip pens, he was happily scribbling away. He loved to colour his own fingers. Then he experimented with drawing on his shirts. He also loved to do some 'graffiti' on our walls, and some of our furniture, eg the TV rack and the dining table. His favourite spot was the bedroom walls.

Today, at two-year-and-four-month old, he is able to sit down and hold a pen or pencil properly. He is a creative little boy, and I love to see him draw, be creative, draw anything at all, then he gets praises from mummy!

Speech development

Jinc is 2 years and three months old. As he is our first born, I thought his speech development is coming along quite well. He is bilingual (or trilingual, or rather multilingual). He can form short sentences and he uses a mix of languages.

I am really pleased to learn that he is picking up words every single day, and sometimes he just surprises me with words that I do not expect him to know. I guess he learns from listening to us and he learns from tv programmes too!

He also surprises me when he sings (humming the words) along with the children's programme theme song, eg, Bob the Builder.

What a wonderful stage and I would really think he is going to be a very talkative little boy!

A good day to play toy cars

Jinc loves all things cars, from buses, trucks, vans, tractors to bulldozers!

When we went to Tesco yesterday. I promised to buy him some toy cars as he has been a good boy. I got him a box of die cast cars set.

Then daddy came home today brought him another box of cars set. What a pleasant surprise and he was over the moon!

The twelve-month vaccinations

At the GP surgery waiting for her turn...

Took Lily-May to her twelve-month vaccination this afternoon. Oh my, she was given three jabs:
She was so brave, she started to cry when the third jab was given, and then I comforted her and showed her some toys to distract her. She stopped and back to her old self again when we got back to the car.

Well, at least now there will be no more jabs until she starts pre-school.

At home, and still my happy baby!

One milk

This scene of having two different tins (types) of baby formula milk has come to a stop. Nowadays, there is only one tin of the same type on the kitchen table top.

Both Jinc and Lily-May are having the same type of formula milk, the toddler milk. Babies grow up really quickly, or rather the time passes so quickly and I hardly ever notice. From the newborn infant milk powder to follow-on milk, and now, both of my children are having toddler milk.

I still breastfeed Lily-May, only in the night....and I am still not sure when I will stop breast feeding. I feel that this is happening too fast, and soon, there will be no more shopping at the baby department! Will I get used to all these, or there will be another baby coming along?

First shoes experience

Took Lily-May to Clarks to have her very first shoe-fitting. Got her her very first pair of proper walking shoes, although she cannot walk just yet. This is an important milestone for her. I hope she will grow up like most girls do, loving shoes and shares her interest in shoes shopping just like her mommy!

When it comes to shoes, you are spoilt for choice (mommy's quote)!

The shoe-fitter measuring Lily-May's foot

Which one?

Looking stylish in her new shoes

We received the keepsake photo of Lily-May in her first shoes, a fit check reminder card, a first shoes book and a height chart. All will go into Lily-May's treasure box!

Later, we went to M&S and got her a cute little cardigan and a dress for her birthday too!

Will be going to have a birthday meal with Lily-May's English nan and grand dad at a Thai restaurant later this evening. We have got the birthday cake ready, and let's just hope the food is good!

Lily May is one today

I just cannot believe how time flies.

It is already one year since I hold my wriggly new born...Lily-May turns one today! Happy birthday to you, my angel. I love you! I just want you to grow up happily and healthily, forever my baby!

Lily May's first hair cut (DIY)

The length of her hair
...

(BEFORE) A close-up

Lily-May will be one next week, and I think she is in need for a hair cut. I do want her to have girly long hair when she is older, she is my little princess after all.

It is quite annoying to see the back of her hair, long and growing but not the front part. Well, I wanted to cut it for her but just did not seem to find the right time to do it. I have got a pair of home-used hairdressing scissors specifically used for cutting children's hair. So, I did it today, during her bath. No mess. Just a few snips, and there it is.. not-so-perfect bob. Not bad for her first hair cut experience, I would say.

AFTER

I could remember that Jinc had his very first hair cut when he was about nine months old. He had it when we went on holiday to Malaysia on 2010. He cried so much at the hairdresser in my hometown, and I did mange to snap a few pictures though, the crying faces, and the reluctant-faced hairdresser!

Lily-May is eight months old!

Not a good week, Lily May has got a temperature, due to teething. Therefore, she could not sleep well during the night, and neither do I.

Dreadful to see her feeling uncomfortable,my poor baby. She also has some rashes around her cheeks, neck, chest and a little bit at her back. It is teething rash as well. Been giving her Calpol and hope she feels better soon.

Just can't wait to see her first tooth cutting through...

Tastebuds

Will be gone in seconds!!

Lily-May has started solids for about a couple of weeks. Oh, this girl is a real foodie! She loves her food and would try every new taste that I offered to her.

She is so easy and I am happily making pureed baby food. Pic shown a bowl of pureed carrot and Lily-May loves it!

It is a new stage for Lily-May, to acquire tastes. I am, again, preparing batches of pureed food and freeze them. I love doing this... I also love seeing Lily-May clearing the plate on each meal! All the hard work of preparing baby food is well worth it!

Jinc's first wellies

Bought Jinc his very first pair or wellington boots. Jinc chose its design in the shoe shop, he loves Peppa pig!

I thought he would choose Bob The Builder or some Thomas and Friends, but...quite a surprise!

Not sure whether we will have snow this month, but the wellies will come in handy when we go to the park or have a walk in the woods! He can play in puddles too!

Was browsing Amazon the other day and I especially love this pair or Hunter Pink wellies! Lily-May can have one of those when she is older!

Lily-May is seven months old!

Lily-May is seven months old!
She is sitting up already!
She loves her food and willing to try new tastes!
She sleeps through the night, and she is very easy going.
She is teething at the moment, and she drools a lot, therefore she wears a bib. Sometimes she does not like her bib and she is able to take off her bib, and yes, the Velcro type. She can take those bibs off easily!

She is so chubby, so cute and when she is in my arms, I just can't stop kissing her!

Love her chunky thighs too!

JInc is 21 months

Jinc is going to be two...

This is a very fun and annoying stage, as he still cannot communicate his needs properly, he gets very frustrated and throws tantrums, anytime, anywhere!

Scary, yes, and this is the so-called Terrible TWO! They did not call it the terrible two for nothing!

Lily-May, six months old!

Oh dear, Lily-May is six months old! Bless her...
As the time passes quickly, she is growing up fast.
Six-month old is a very exciting stage. I am so happy, in a way, I do feel that my baby is growing up too fast!

Lily-May has started solids and she loves her food, she is putting on so much weight, and she is a very heavy baby, she is more than 9kg! She is almost as big as her 21-month old brother!

She loves her walker and she loves watching TV!
